At Tetra Tech, you'll work on high-impact projects across the UK, helping to tackle some of the most complex environmental challenges.


Purpose & Scope of the Role

As an Engineer within our Flood Risk and Sustainable Water Engineering team, you will support the delivery of a wide range of infrastructure and development projects across the UK. Working on schemes from £0.1m to £100m, you will contribute to river engineering, flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessments, and drainage strategies including SuDS and natural flood management. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage optioneering and client engagement through to detailed design and project close-out, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business growth activities.

You will play an important role in delivering effective, sustainable flood risk and drainage solutions that support resilient communities and infrastructure. Your technical input will help clients navigate complex planning and environmental requirements, while your collaboration and mentoring will strengthen team capability and project outcomes.


Experience in Hydraulics and Hydrology, Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, Nature-Based and Sustainable Design and Field and Practical Skills

* Experience contributing to projects from inception through to delivery
* Ability to support project management activities and assist with bids and proposals


Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

* Strong report writing and presentation skills
* Ability to engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams effectively


Collaboration & Professional Growth

* Team-oriented with the ability to mentor and support junior colleagues
* Committed to continuous development and progression towards chartership
* Degree in a relevant discipline with experience in civil, structural or water engineering
* Working towards or holding chartership with ICE or CIWEM desirable
* UK project experience essential, full UK driving licence required
* Eligibility for SC clearance advantageous
