Role Purpose
As a Sales Consultant, you will play a crucial role in building and developing relationships with housing developers and housebuilders. You will focus on consultative, specification-led sales, helping clients meet their sustainability targets while ensuring commercial viability.
Key Responsibilities
* 🌱 Business Development & Sales
o Identify and secure new business犯法 opportunities with regional and national housebuilders, residential property developers, and design‑and‑build contractors.
o Build strong, long‑term relationships with key stakeholders, including Technical Managers, Sustainability Managers, and Procurement Managers.
o Drive Solar PV specifications during the early design and planning stages.
o Manage the sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract award.
* đź”§ Technical & Consultative Selling
o Act as a trusted advisor on Solar PV system design and compliance with Building Regulations.
o Collaborate with internal teams to produce technical proposals and value‑engineered solutions.
* đź’Ľ Commercial Management
o Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, balancing margin protection with developer cost constraints.
o Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting via CRM.
* 🌍 Market & Relationship Development
o Stay updated on housing market trends, Building Regulations, and competitor offerings.
o Represent our client at industry events and networking opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
* Proven experience in B2B consultative sales within construction, property development, building services, or energy/renewables.
* Demonstrable success in selling technical solutions with long sales cycles.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Desirable
* Experience with Solar PV or low‑carbon technologies.
* Knowledge of Building Regulations and sustainability requirements.
Personal Attributes
* Consultative, solutions‑led sales approach.
* Confident engaging at both technical and commercial levels.
* Highly organised with strong pipeline management skills.
* Resilient and self‑motivated in a target‑driven environment.
