Job Description
We are seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our team. Our team is passionate about animal welfare and loves working with rabbits and rodents.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the well-being of our animals, providing exceptional care to rabbits and rodents, including feeding, cleaning, and breeding responsibilities in a production facility.
We will support your training and development to learn new skills and experiences, allowing you to progress in your role and beyond. If you are hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a passion for animals, we would love for you to join our team.
About You
You have a genuine interest in animal development and breeding and are comfortable handling and holding rabbits or rodents. You either have a qualification in animal care or previous experience working in an animal-related environment.
Attention to detail is key in this role, as you will be keeping accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning, and animal care activities. You will also coordinate order details, including selection, packaging, and ensuring accuracy at all times.
You are a great team player, flexible to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis, and happy to work overtime if needed.
Location and Benefits
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (with the potential to be made permanent), based at our Hillcrest site in Belton, just outside of Loughborough.
As an Animal Technician, you will work a range of hours, including weekends and bank holidays. We offer a starting salary of £25,982 (or more with experience), 33 days of holiday (including 8 public holidays), core benefits, and a flexible benefits scheme.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, candidates cannot have pet rodents (mice, rats, or guinea-pigs) or rabbits for biosecurity reasons. Candidates must also be able to drive due to limited public transport.
