Our client, a prominent name in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and manage electrical engineering projects and teams, being based at their Elephant and Castle office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertaking the CEM and/or CRE role
* Deputising for the Associate Director as required
* Developing design from feasibility up to As Built
* Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
* Helping to grow the team and developing its technical capability
* Leading and managing a small team of engineers
* Mentoring others in CRE roles, and providing discipline training
* Nurturing a 'get it right first time' culture within the team
* Producing and issuing progress reports
* Preparing and conducting presentations to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
Job Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Member of an engineering institute with Engineering Council Professional Registration
* Experience of undertaking the CEM/CRE/DPE role
* Experience in managing works in accordance with NR-L2-RSE-02009, Engineering Management of Projects
* Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
* Comprehensive knowledge of British Standards and Rail Standards (e.g., Network Rail, HS2, TfL)
* Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget
* Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience
* Proficient in leading meetings and presenting to various stakeholders
* Deep understanding of electrical systems from technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintenance perspectives
* Knowledge of engineering software tools (e.g., Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux)
* Knowledge of procurement activities and lead times
* Right to work in the UK
