Job Title: Buyer / Purchasing Administrator - Construction Location: West Midlands Salary: £35k - £40k per annum (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time, permanent We're working with a well-established, profitable and credible sub-contractor in the construction industry who have a full order book of projects lined up for next year and going forwards. They deliver high quality work and benefit from repeat business from Tier 1 contractors. We are seeking a Buyer / Purchasing Administrator to strengthen their procurement and commercial function. You'll have experience within a purchasing team in the construction industry and be looking for an exceptional opportunity to develop and progress into a Senior Buyer/Buyer. What you'll be doing as a key member of the purchasing team: Support the procurement of materials and subcontractor services for projects Raise purchase orders, issue enquiries, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor delivery schedules Purchasing administration: processing requisitions, purchase orders, goods-in records, supplier data, updating systems Maintain supplier relationships - evaluate performance, check compliance, resolve issues Work closely with site and commercial teams to align procurement to project requirements Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive procurement efficiencies What you'll bring to the role: Experience in purchasing/purchasing administration within the construction sector Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills Strong organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Knowledge of construction materials would be ideal What's on Offer: Competitive salary and benefits Opportunity for development into a Senior Buyer A supportive team culture in a stable and growing organisation Exposure to high-profile and varied projects Sound of interest?
