The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager who will assist the Home Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that our residents are provided with the highest standards of care tailored to their individual needs.
The Deputy Manager will also support operational and financial management, ensure compliance with legislation and standards through monitoring and support, and stand in for the Home Manager when necessary.
The role involves hands-on practice, regular shifts, working every other weekend, and on-call duties.
We seek a leader who can motivate staff and deliver outstanding, personalized care. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Deputy Manager in a similar setting, demonstrate strong leadership, a proactive approach to care, and thorough knowledge of care standards legislation, including Fundamental Standards.
Requirements
* Relevant professional qualification (minimum NVQ/Diploma L3)
* Management/supervisory experience in a residential care home
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong IT skills
* Good knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards
* Understanding of Person-Centered Care principles
* Recent experience with dementia care
* Leadership and team development skills
* Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
* Effective communication with residents, families, and stakeholders
* Medication management competency
* Flexible working hours
Desired
* NVQ/RMA/Diploma Level 5 or equivalent management qualification
* Experience delivering staff training
* Knowledge of business and operational management in large organizations
