Job Description

Are you passionate about using data to improve lives and tackle inequality? Are you an excellent facilitator and coach, ready to help organisations work together to make a difference?

The Improvement Service is looking for a Transformation Coach to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how local and national government - and their partners across Scotland - use data to identify vulnerable people and deliver early help. The initial focus of this work will be tackling child poverty and family support.

About the role
You will work with local partnerships, guiding them through the SAVVI (Scalable Approach to Vulnerability Via Interoperability) process - an innovative, data-driven approach to identifying and supporting vulnerable households before they reach crisis point.

You can learn more about SAVVI here.

We will be provided with in-depth training to help you become a SAVVI practitioner. You will then:

* Bring together policy leads, data experts and data protection officers to design safe and effective data-sharing solutions.
* Support councils and partners to apply the SAVVI process to local priorities, starting with child poverty and expanding to other issues like climate vulnerability.
* Facilitate multi-agency workshops, coaching sessions, and events to build consensus and confidence.
* Capture learning and share it across Scotland through the SAVVI Playbook.
* Collaborate with our colleagues at iStandUK to strengthen the SAVVI model based on Scotland's experience.

What we're looking for
We're seeking someone who combines excellent people skills with a passion for improvement. They will have:

* Experience supporting change or transformation in a multi-agency context.
* Outstanding facilitation and coaching skills.
* Strong communication and influencing abilities, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* The ability to manage complex projects independently.
* A commitment to tackling inequality and improving outcomes.

Knowledge of information governance, data sharing, or early intervention is an advantage, but formal SAVVI expertise is not required - we'll train and support you.

Information

Location: West Lothian Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, West Lothian EH54 6FF, with travel throughout Scotland as required. It is anticipated that the role will involve a blended model of office and home working and this flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.

Duration: 1 Year Fixed Term

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Closing date: 8 June 2025

Interview Date

A competence based interview will take place on 8 or 9 July 2025 (shortlisted candidates will be advised by email a week in advance of the interview).

For more information about competency-based interviews, see our 'Guide to Competency-based Interviews'. You may also find it useful to read our current Business Plan 2025-2026.
