The Role As a Secondary School Sports Coach, you’ll: Help the teacher deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting the PE department’s curriculum Run extracurricular clubs such as football, netball, basketball, and athletics Promote teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude to health and fitness Support with planning, set-up, and supervision during lessons and sports fixtures Lead warm-ups, drills, and small group coaching sessions Provide mentoring and behaviour support for students through sport-based interventions You’ll be part of a welcoming, collaborative team that values energy, creativity, and positive relationships. About You We’d love to hear from you if you have: A background in Sports Coaching, PE, or youth work (degree or Level 2 coaching qualification preferred) Experience working with young people aged 11–16, ideally in a school or community setting A positive, proactive, and supportive attitude The confidence to motivate and inspire students of all abilities Flexibility to assist across lessons, extracurricular activities, and school events Whether you’re an experienced coach, a recent graduate, or considering a future in teaching, this role offers a great step into secondary education.
