Job Description Summary
As a Control & Protection System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and providing technical solutions for HVDC control and protection systems (Automation & Application), including associated AC & secondary engineering at the ITO stage. Your tasks include analyzing customer requirements, assessing deviations from standard products, and promoting standard solutions and cost competitiveness.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Analyze customer specifications, identify gaps, and develop technical solutions for HVDC & AC control & protection systems.
* Perform dynamic performance studies using simulation tools like MATLAB and PSCAD.
* Prepare control, protection, and sequencing strategy specifications.
* Design or contribute to AC substation single line diagrams, operation modes, and sequencing.
* Understand network protocols like IEC 61850 and hardware architecture.
* Coordinate with cybersecurity experts to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver complete solutions.
* Provide input data for project components and prepare technical specifications for sourcing and validation.
* Lead customer meetings and workshops, ensuring timely delivery of engineering documents and cost estimates.
* Assess risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation measures.
* Participate in standardization efforts and adhere to quality procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
* Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Knowledge of electrical substation equipment, HV, LV, and auxiliary systems.
* Background in electrical power system protection & control.
* Experience with simulation tools like PSCAD or MATLAB-SIMULINK is desirable.
* Experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, e-base, Microsoft Visio is desirable.
* Strong sense of urgency, technical risk management skills, and excellent communication abilities.
* Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining safety, quality, and engineering integrity.
