About the role As a Neighbourhood Ranger, you’ll play an important role in keeping our neighbourhoods clean, safe, and well-presented. Working across the city as part of our Environmental Services team, you’ll help provide a responsive, high‑quality service that supports both our residents and our wider communities. You’ll also support a range of activity within the Re‑Use Centre—helping to safely transport, sort, and repurpose materials to reduce waste and promote more sustainable neighbourhoods while also tackling fly tipping and assisting with housing tort‑related jobs to help maintain safe, compliant, and welcoming areas. Your work will include: Responding to reports of fly‑tipping, removing waste safely and efficiently, and ensuring affected areas are left clean and hazard‑free. Supporting housing tort jobs, including clearing abandoned items, securing properties, and helping prepare homes for re-use. Ensuring neighbourhoods remain safe, clean and compliant with health and safety best practice. Liaising with residents, neighbourhood housing teams and colleagues to resolve issues and keep everyone updated. Please note that this role is a temporary position for a period of up to 10 months. About You We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team that makes a real difference. You’ll bring: Experience in caretaking, cleaning, or grounds maintenance services. A good understanding of Health and Safety at Work. The ability to work independently and flexibly to meet service needs. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Confidence to plan and prioritise your workload.
