Electrician (Solar PV & Air Source Heat Pump Installations)
Low Carbon Recruitment is working with a Renewable Energy company that has been established since 2018 and is based in Haverhill. They are looking for a fully qualified Electrician with experience in Solar & ASHPs. The work will be in Haverhill and surrounding areas.
As a company, they have become one of the largest installers of Renewables and Insulation across East Anglia with over 30 years of experience in the energy efficiency industry. They are a family‑run business, delivering green energy solutions in the government‑funded ECO sector, including cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, solar PV, air source heat pumps, and storage heaters for large utility companies.
Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical works on domestic and small commercial solar PV systems, including inverters, batteries, and consumer unit upgrades. You will also work on electrical installations related to heat pump systems, ensuring everything is up to code and fully functional.
Key Responsibilities
* Wiring and connecting Solar PV systems including inverters, batteries, and AC/DC isolators.
* Wiring and installing Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems.
* Installing and commissioning inverters and batteries.
* Conducting fault finding, testing, and certification for all electrical installations.
* Carrying out general electrical work related to solar PV installs.
* Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety and electrical standards.
* Planning and traveling to sites as needed (mainly in the South of England).
* Providing excellent customer‑facing support during installations and commissioning.
Skills & Experience Required
* Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3.
* 18th Edition and AM2 certifications.
* CSCS card for site access.
* Previous Solar PV experience is essential, with the ability to work on domestic and small commercial systems.
* Experience with Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) is beneficial but not essential.
* Full UK driving licence and reliable transportation.
* Comfortable working in various environments including on roofs and in loft spaces.
* Previous experience working in social housing would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
* Competitive salary: £37,000 - £45,000 per annum.
* Bonus on Job Completion / Compliance – £25 per job, up to £12k per annum.
