Job summary
We are a small (just under 6000 patients)friendly, dispensing practice in South West Herefordshire. We are looking for a salaried GP to join ourpractice to cover maternity leave, ideally starting in June, although we can be flexible. There may be a possibility of future employment for the right candidate.
We have a a strong team of doctors, ANP, nurses, HCAs, dispensing staff, pharmacist and admin/ secretaries/reception. We are looking for a dedicated, level-headed and friendly person to join our practice to work between 4 - 8 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
To provide general practice consultations to patients and, where appropriate, physical examinations for the purposes of identifying or reducing the risk of disease or injury.
To uphold the principles of good medical practice as stated in the GMC statement of professional values and responsibilities:
1. Make the care of your patient your first concern.
2. Provide a good standard of practice and care.
3. Keep your professional knowledge and skills up to date.
4. Recognise and work within the limits of your competence.

Being a truly rural practice our day-to-day work life is rewarding. Much emphasis is based on continuity of care and getting to know our patients. We also see quite a few minor injuries so there is an opportunity to use these skills if desired. Job responsibilities
The role itself involves being a (Doctor) Salaried GP at our practice with a patient list size of around 6000 patients. You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner and be responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering excellent clinical care.
In particular, you must adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to effective management and processes within the practice, show leadership skills as well as maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. You will be involved in routine clinics and taking part in the duty doctor rota.

We have a skilled team of clinicians including doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, physician associates and health care assistants. We have a skilled administrative team who support clinicians by arranging referrals, organising workflow of tasks and phone calls, which allows time to focus on patient care.
We have a culture of learning and personal development. There are regular clinical meetings which allow us to discuss matters (clinical or non-clinical) in an open and supportive environment. Apart from this, we pride ourselves on having an open door policy- any issues can be discussed at the time you need to with any member of staff.
