Now Recruiting: Experienced Tutors – Wokingham Area
Are you an experienced tutor or teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable and disengaged young people?
We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled tutors in the Wokingham area to provide 1:1 tuition for secondary-aged pupils referred by the Local Authority. These learners often face significant barriers to education, including extended time out of school and a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping pupils re-engage with learning in a supportive, structured, and consistent way.
Role Details:
* Subjects in demand: Primarily English and Maths
* Location: Tuition takes place in the pupil’s home, online, or occasionally in a community setting such as a library
* Availability: Minimum of 10–15 hours per week
* Session Reports: Tutors are expected to maintain clear and timely documentation including:
o Session content and progress
o Learning objectives
o Attendance and engagement notes
Essential Requirements:
* At least 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring in the UK
* Experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs
* Confident working independently with young people who may present with low self-esteem, anxiety, or challenging behaviours
* Able to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions that support academic and emotional development
* Knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to maintain professional boundaries at all times

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
