About the role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Erdington. This role is ideal for a graduate who is eager to take their first step into teaching and gain valuable experience working in a school environment.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
* Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
* Assist with classroom management, behaviour support and maintaining a positive learning environment.
* Provide targeted intervention to help students reach academic and personal goals.
* Support pupils with additional learning needs (SEN) under teacher guidance.
* Help prepare lesson resources, classroom materials and displays.
* Supervise students during lessons, transitions.
* Contribute to the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities where possible.
Role Requirements:
* A degree in any subject area.
* A genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue a career in teaching or school-based work.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
* Patience, resilience and the ability to motivate and engage students.
* Organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Some experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering or similar) is desirable but not essential.
* Have a DBS on the update service or willingess to obtain one.
