Overview
Come join USU Eastern's Facilities Team as a Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Technician III). We are looking for someone skilled in a variety of skilled trades to join our team. Maintenance Technicians maintain and repair equipment, machinery, appliances, utilities, buildings, facilities, fixtures, and systems. This position will help with a variety of work orders based upon the operational needs of the campus.

Responsibilities
8. Inspects and performs routine preventive maintenance on all campus buildings and equipment, including basic plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and electrical.
9. Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain machinery and equipment.
10. Performs mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.
11. Organizes and oversees the day-to-day and emergency maintenance requests to make sure buildings and equipment are in working condition.
12. Responds to work orders in a timely fashion.
13. Communicates with supervisors and other team members about existing and potential issues.
14. Maintains accurate records of maintenance dates, repair costs, and type of maintenance performed.
15. Provides on-call support outside regular hours as part of a rotating duty roster.
16. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
17. Four years of experience performing corrective and preventative building and equipment maintenance OR equivalent "handyman" skills/experience.
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
19. Knowledge and ability to use necessary tools appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications:
20. Drywall experience
21. Electical experience
22. Painting experience

Advertised Salary
Minimum $50,000 commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits.

This position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (up to 75 and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions, such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting.
