The East Riding Children with Disabilities Team is looking for a dynamic and flexible Community Short Breaks Worker. This role serves a vital purpose in ensuring that the local authority can support children and young people with disabilities to receive a short break in the community.
This is a great opportunity to join our team at a time of growth and development within children’s services, supporting children and young people with additional needs to access the support they require. You will be part of a wider specialist team, including family coordinators, intensive family coordinators and social workers, who are dedicated in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and committed individual who is able to support children and young people access short breaks in the community. They will have experience of supporting children and young people with additional needs and have a secure understanding of how to assist individuals with SEND. The successful applicant will be offered relevant training, support and guidance but must be able to use their own initiative and work flexibly while following procedures and guidance.
The successful candidate will be expected to work across the East Riding. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to work outside of core hours, including evenings.
