As Senior Base Pilot, you will be the on‑base authority for BN2T operations—owning day‑to‑day decision‑making and ensuring missions are flown safely, legally, and on time. You’ll guide aircrew, collaborate with engineering, and represent Draken with customers to deliver contracted outcomes without compromising standards.
What you’ll lead
* Operational leadership and local accountability for contracted BN2T flying.
* Safety‑first decision‑making, with clear, defensible judgments under time pressure.
* Daily coordination with aircrew, engineers, and operations to optimise aircraft availability and mission delivery.
* Rigorous compliance with applicable CAA/MAA regulatory frameworks and company procedures.
* Risk assessment and mitigation that balances mission effectiveness with robust safety margins.
* Professional representation of the base to customers and leadership, with timely, transparent reporting.
* Standards, mentoring, and positive safety culture across the base team.

Minimum requirements
* Licence: UK CAA CPL with MCC and UPRT
* Medical: Class 1
* English Proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4+
* Type Rating: Not required—training provided (NTR)
* Accepted Licences: UK CAA only
Highly regarded
* 1,000+ hours BN2 Islander PIC
* Practical experience with CAA and/or MAA regulatory frameworks
* Background in commercial, government, or military aviation operations
