About the role
This is a hands‑on Senior Ecologist role with a strong mix of site and desk‑based work throughout the year.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading and delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
* Undertaking and managing Protected Species Surveys (particularly bats)
* Producing clear, high‑quality technical reports
* Supporting mitigation and ecological enhancement strategies
* Contributing to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
* Working closely with clients and internal multi‑disciplinary teams
The role offers a wide variety of project work across sectors including residential, healthcare, education and utilities. No two projects are the same, and you won’t be tied to a single large scheme.
About you
* Strong experience delivering PEAs and Protected Species Surveys
* Good knowledge of British flora and fauna
* Understanding of wildlife legislation and the UK planning system
* Strong report writing skills with attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence
Highly desirable
* Bat Survey Licence (Level 2)
* Additional protected species licences or specialisms
* Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain
