Here at EDC we have an exciting opportunity for a well organised and self-motivated Health, Safety and Environments Manager to join the East Durham College Team on a full time permanent basis.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the post is to provide leadership, advice, guidance and support in relation to all health, safety and environmental matters throughout the college in addition to promoting a positive health and safety culture amongst staff, students, contractors, and visitors. Main duties of the post will require the successful candidate to deliver on the following; Stakeholder Management, Service Delivery, Innovation and Continuous Improvement as well as General and College Responsibilities.
Prepare, present briefing materials/reports to a variety of audiences. Manage risk and ensure practical application of health & safety legislation.
Essential Requirements
* NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
* Valid Driver’s Licence
* At least 3 years’ experience in a working health & safety role
* Experience of managing or leading health & safety within the education sector
* Experienced Health & Safety Trainer
* Ability to prepare, and present briefing materials/reports to a variety of audiences
* Knowledge of risk management
* Demonstrable knowledge of the practical application of health & safety legislation
