As a Clinical Research Educator, you will play a vital role in delivering an innovative education program aimed at enhancing research competencies across our organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to co-develop and implement an educational program tailored to the needs of our research community, including principal investigators and pre- and post-registration research nurses.
We are seeking a dynamic individual with a background in clinical research and a passion for education. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for curriculum development, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will collaborate with a proficient leadership and delivery team. The will:
1. Lead the delivery of the Research and Development Education Project
2. Support the development of our Research Infrastructure, through engagement with the Research Competencies
3. Engage the wider clinical areas in Research awareness and education
4. Support the advancement of clinical nurses by developing and implementing a Research Education package tailored specifically to their needs
5. Collaborate closely with the Research and Development Leadership team, the Clinical Research Network (soon to be the Regional Delivery Network) and the clinical care teams

The Post holder will:
6. Act at all times within the nursing professional code of conduct or relevant professional guidelines
7. Be responsible for delivering the education strategy within Clinical Research
8. Provide management to a service led multidisciplinary education strategy
9. Lead on Clinical Research Education through teaching and course module organisation
10. Plan and facilitate teaching on all aspects of Clinical Research
11. Support/mentor and coach the staff to achieve their competencies
12. Provide assurance of compliance for all staff with training needs
13. Help provide a specialised and advanced research delivery service, ensuring high standards are monitored and maintained within the framework of clinical governance
14. Be recognised as an expert in the application of clinical research
15. Be a positive role model to deliver exceptional clinical research
16. Contribute to the practice development projects
17. Lead, facilitate and implement audit and research findings where appropriate
18. Maintain a database of staff training
19. Maintain an up to date knowledge base, ensuring professional academic credibility
20. To support staff through their appraisal/revalidation process addressing individual development needs and monitoring performance in line with Trust policy.

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential criteria
22. RGN, or equivalent health care professional, with current live Registration
23. Qualification in teaching/mentorship
24. GCP
Work Experience
Essential criteria
25. Experience in the implementation of education initiatives
26. Significant experience working at Band 6 or higher
27. Working autonomously and organising a defined workload within tight deadlines
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Essential criteria
28. A good working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Office applications (TEAMS, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Publisher)
29. Leadership skills to include development of junior staff and change management
30. Developing and maintaining inter-professional relationships
31. Knowledge of clinical research governance and legislation

The successful applicant(s) will normally commence at the minimum of the scale unless they have previous NHS service at the same band. Progression through the scale is by annual increments.
