Job Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for project engineering and delivery, including operations, design, site works, and product development projects. The Project Engineer will lead a cross-functional team supporting each project. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing, small company. The team may be local, remote, and include global sites. A Project Engineer will be assigned multiple projects of various sizes.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the design process for Engineer to Order (ETO) and modular system designs.
2. Define and execute project objectives, including scope, time, communications, budget, quality, stakeholders, human resources, risk, and procurement management.
3. Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets, scope statements, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to keep all stakeholders aligned.
4. Assemble a project team with the necessary competencies and capacity, utilizing contracted employees and consultants as needed.
5. Collaborate with sales during the bid process and take ownership of the project post-sale.
6. Organize and manage communication and information flow within the project to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Manage stakeholders and make decisions to advance the project, escalating issues when necessary.
8. Improve organizational processes by creating best practices and documenting lessons learned.
Basic Qualifications
* At least 3 years of recent experience in Project Engineering.
* At least 5 years of recent experience in EC&I design, installation, or commissioning.
* At least 3 years of recent experience in the gas utilities industry.
* Knowledge of the design approval and appraisal process within the gas utilities industry.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
* Primarily site-based, with 10% travel, including potential international travel.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
* Ability to prioritize, develop work schedules, monitor progress, and track activities and data.
* Organized, self-motivated, and effective communicator at all organizational levels.
* Interest in understanding various functional areas such as finance, markets, product management, engineering, quality, production, and sourcing.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
* Ownership mentality to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
