Fabric Engineer - North West Schools
Integral is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join our Public Sector Team, covering North West Schools. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of building services, relevant experience, and a calm demeanor that fosters trust with clients and the site team. Experience at a day-to-day operational level suited to the environment is essential.
Responsibilities
* Fault finding and rectification
* Maintaining qualification levels
* Supporting contract management and admin teams through the operations office, handling daily engineering and contract issues
* Resolving problematic persistent recalls
* Monitoring and recording engineering performance
* Conducting quality control checks on reactive and PPM tasks
* Effective communication with clients and end users
* Flexible working hours to meet client and business needs
* Responding to emergencies during normal and out-of-hours times
* Organizing and directing subcontractor labor as needed
* Conducting asset collections and condition surveys to assist the Contract Delivery Manager
* Maintaining health and safety records and ensuring best practices
* Performing planned and reactive maintenance, including fault finding, testing, repairing, and preventative maintenance of electrical building services equipment
* Carrying out various non-specialist building fabric maintenance tasks
* Updating completed PPM tasks on the CAFM system
* Adhering to company QA and site procedures
* Following health and safety procedures at all times
* Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
* Inspecting services and proactively managing call-outs and repairs
* Attending site emergencies and callouts outside normal hours
* Working in plant room environments and at heights, using platforms and ladders with provided PPE
* Maintaining company tools in a safe, functional condition
* Supporting the success of the contract with a positive attitude
* Performing additional tasks as requested by management within the operational scope
Previous Experience and Qualifications
* Experience in the Building Services Sector, preferably in Carpentry
* NVQ/Apprenticeship or equivalent in the relevant trade
* Full UK driving license
* Good understanding of health and safety practices (COSHH, RIDDOR, etc.)
* Flexible approach to work
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and targets
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
