Were supporting a long-established UK engineering manufacturer operating in a highly regulated defence environment to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent position based at a North West engineering site
Manufacturing Engineer Role -
This is a hands-on, shop-floorfocused role supporting fabrication and vehicle assembly operations, driving continuous improvement, quality, and delivery performance across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities; Manufacturing Engineer
Provide practical manufacturing engineering support to fabrication and assembly operations
Develop and implement process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability
Support jig, fixture, and alignment solutions to improve dimensional control
Drive build-hour reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Support capital investment and automation projects
Lead structured problem-solving and cross-functional improvement activity
Ensure full compliance with H&S, Quality, and Manufacturing procedures
Create and maintain standard operating procedures
Requirements; Manufacturing Engineer
Degree, HND, or advanced apprenticeship in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
Experience in complex engineering or defence-related manufacturing environments
Strong knowledge of aluminium fabrication and welding (ferrous and non-ferrous)
Ability to read and critique fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T
Experience with SAP, BOM structures, and manufacturing planning
Jig and fixture design experience desirable
Strong problem-solving and data-driven improvement capability
Security / Export Control
This role is subject to ITAR and UK export control regulations
