Job Description

As part of the Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS), you will manage important environmental monitoring systems and datasets. You will join a multi‑disciplinary team, supporting and learning from colleagues while analysing and improving data that underpins our work. The role involves working with Water Quality systems and data, and you may be expected to support other systems as needed.
Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users.
* Support users and resolve issues, particularly during the transition to our new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.
* Participate in training and incident response duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of working with large complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* Motivated, organised, friendly and helpful, with an eye for detail.
* Proactive problem‑solving attitude.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Desirable Skills
* Experience of using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
* Experience of using PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
* Working knowledge of water quality monitoring.
Location & Working Arrangement
Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England and have a presence there. We offer hybrid home/office working; some travel is expected for meetings.
Interview Process
Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams towards the end of December/beginning of January. Interview dates will be confirmed for candidates invited to interview.
