What you’ll be doing
as a Regional Security Advisor
1. Conduct security risk assessments to a consistent standard across our estate.
2. Conducting security investigations to a consistent standard and reviewing compliance assessment forms, escalating as required.
3. Providing practical security advice to TW colleagues as a subject matter expert.
4. Involved and engaged in the testing and exercising of our security arrangements.
5. Support incident responses and risk register reviews. Assist senior members of the team in auditing operational sites and systems and providing quality assurance of security-related projects.
6. Monitor security KPIS and SLAS.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Promote common standards and alignment of security policy and practice across Thames Water. In addition, promote a security-conscious culture within Thames Water.
There are multiple locations available for this role:
9. Thames Valley/ Home Counties: Swindon, Newbury, Reading and Guildford.
10. London: North (Coppermills), East (Crossness) and West (Ashford Common)
Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As part of the security team, you will be required to travel across the Thames Water region.
What you should bring to the role
11. Experience in developing and writing reports, good written communication skills.
12. Strong negotiation and people influencing skills. Ability to communicate at all levels, present to an audience and build strong relationships.
13. Experience in a related discipline (i.e. risk management, protective security, technical or process manager) and a willingness to develop into a security role.
14. Ability to collaborate with strong communication.
15. Be Self-motivated, committed and organised.
16. Security Institute (SyI) BTEC Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Security Management is desirable.
17. National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) Foundation Course is desirable.
18. Have experience of working in a regulated environment, i.e., utilities, government department, national infrastructure, etc., ideally with a background in the water industry, water engineering or civil engineering is desirable.
