Business Development Manager: RF / Test and Measurement
Join to apply for this Business Development Manager role at TipTopJob. The position supports our client’s specialist focus within the test environment and requires a strong electrical engineering background with exposure to RF, EMC or power supply testing.
Working from a hybrid location in England, you will go to market and continue the target of testing applications on a consultative, solution based sales basis. Supported by your existing knowledge of aerospace, defence and automotive test solution sectors, you will represent our client’s range of test and measurement solutions to generate new opportunities and deepen the current customer base while maintaining existing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and convert new sales leads.
* Professional presentation of solutions to new and existing clients.
* Develop and maintain solid relationships with prospective new contacts and existing clients.
* Maintain existing business and pursue new opportunities within the customer base.
* Participate in and lead sales campaigns and activity in target market areas/sectors.
* Prepare and manage a territory plan in collaboration with other sales and business support functions.
* Shape and identify new marketing collateral to drive territorial sales.
* Track all opportunities across the account base consistently within the company CRM and quote tracking systems.
Required Experience & Skills
* Strategic selling and business development exposure, including sales opportunity closure.
* Traditional and electronic (social selling) networking.
* On‑time delivery against agreed targets and objectives.
* Negotiation exposure / understanding of differing channel sales requirements.
* Commercial problem solving and thinking.
* Facilitation and team engagement.
* Lead proactive sales effort across the UK for test and measurement solutions.
* Telephone appointment setting and diary management for prospect and customer visits.
* Active development of an online professional profile and production of personal content to build a technical brand.
* Experience working in a similar technical arena.
* Understanding of the market sectors in which the role operates and ability to network successfully within the appropriate industry forums/organisations.
* Experience in a B2B sales role, ideally in a multi‑channel/distribution environment, selling at least two related product categories.
* Proven verbal and written presentation and commercial skills.
* Ideally degree educated (or with relevant commercial experience) and minimum five years in a customer commercial role.
