Join our team as a Finance Visitor in the Adult Social Care division, where you will support individuals in accessing financial support for care and daily living, while helping the Council maximise income and reduce debt.
Finance Visitor – Adult Social Care
* Location:Blackpool, Bickerstaffe
* Contract Duration:01/11/2025 – 30/04/2026
* Hours:Full-time, 37 hours per week
* Rate: £16.62 - £18.36 per hour (PAYE) or £21.07 – £23.35 per hour (Umbrella)
* Checks Required:2-year reference history, employment gaps reviewed, qualifications as per JDPS, Basic DBS & PSN
Day-to-day of the role:
* Conduct home and care facility visits to verify financial details and complete benefit forms.
* Administer financial assessments and calculate charges in line with legislation and Council policy.
* Provide clear guidance on residential and non-residential care charges.
* Engage with customers to address outstanding debts and explore recovery options.
* Liaise with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., DWP) to support benefit claims and revenue collection.
* Maintain accurate records of visits, assessments, and actions taken.
* Create and issue Social Care invoices to ensure timely payments.
* Report safeguarding concerns and adhere to lone working and safe practice policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of welfare benefits and debt recovery processes.
* Experience working in front-line advisory roles, particularly with vulnerable individuals.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and numeracy skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive information and work independently.
* Comfortable working in varied environments, including customer homes.
