Your new role
Working for the Group Accountant, you take sole responsibility for the import/international purchase ledger side of thepany. Day to day duties will include;
1. Liaising with overseas suppliers, forwarders and the bank
2. Making daily payments in US Dollars
3. Posting daily cashbook journals
4. Matching goods in notes, freight and inspection invoices to supplier invoices
5. Batching and posting stock invoices
6. Reconciling and posting monthly deferment statements
7. Reconciling supplier statements
8. Raising debit notes against delivery shortages
You will be able to cope with a high volume of emails from suppliers on a daily basis in order to resolve any problems and queries efficiently in order toplete the invoice process quickly. Use of Excel to manipulate the data is required along with constant liaison with internal contacts from different departments within thepany.
What you'll need to succeed
It is expected you will have a current and consistent track record in purchase ledger and will have experience of import invoices and stock related queries. You will be confident and experienced in using Excel and want to continue working within purchase ledger. Being responsible for this ledger will be challenging and will be consistently working to constantly changing deadlines. A confident, adaptable and organised person with excellentmunication skills with a can-do, hands-on attitude is essential.
