Job Summary

Must be a driver, with a current full UK licence, manual licence only, and cannot accept automatic. Must be willing to drive the service car unsupervised.

Fixed term for 12 months. Full Time 37.5 hours per week. At Care in Mind our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work.

As a Deputy Manager you will work alongside and be supported by a multi-disciplinary team including Nurses, Psychologists and Psychiatrists.


Key Responsibilities

You will support the Registered Manager, helping plan rotas for the staff, conducting monthly supervisions, and assisting the team with their learning and development ensuring all the relevant training and inductions are completed.

At our home in Bromborough you will work with young people who have a variety of mental health diagnoses including personality disorder, disordered eating, complex post‑traumatic stress disorder and those who use self‑harm as a strategy to cope with their emotions. Several of our young people are preparing for moving on positively from the home into the community.

Your role will include supporting them with their daily living:

* meal preparation
* food shopping
* prompting for self-care
* medication administration
* medical appointments
* general upkeep of their home

Our young people enjoy activities out of the home including clothes shopping, swimming, meals out, attending youth clubs and other groups, pamper sessions and cinema trips, which you will be able to support with.

The role will also include incident management, de‑escalation of challenging behaviours, completing online records, report writing, audits, and medication management.


Qualifications

* Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
* Previous experience working with young people with mental health needs
* A minimum of 12 months supervisory experience
* An understanding of CQC and/or Ofsted requirements
* Hold a Level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent
* Flexibility to work a 7‑day rota, completing early and late shift patterns alongside occasional sleep‑ins for which an additional payment is made
* A compassionate personality, remaining calm, resilient, and understanding of the issues & challenges our young people face

Training will be 6 days held at our Head Office in Stockport – reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Care in Mind provide residential services for young people aged 16‑30 years old. The young people we care for often require a high level of support to assist with difficulties they may have from self‑harm, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their individual goals, in preparation for transition to adult life.
