A welcoming and inclusive school in Heaton, Newcastle, is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support Year 4 pupils with ASC and SEMH needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with autism and social, emotional and mental health needs
* Helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn
* Assisting with classroom routines, learning activities and smooth transitions throughout the day
* Working alongside the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies
* Being a consistent, trusted adult who pupils can rely on

* Experience supporting children with ASC and/or SEMH (in schools or other settings)
* A calm, empathetic approach with clear boundaries
* A team player who can follow behaviour plans while using initiative
* Someone who genuinely enjoys helping children thrive—even on the tougher days

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
