We have a unique, caring, and inclusive team responsible for the care of Children and Young People from 5 days to 18 years old across Hampshire.
Our department has a 4-bed High Dependency Unit and 22 inpatient beds. We have close links with our Paediatric Assessment Unit, Neonatal Unit, Children’s Outpatient Department, Paediatric A&E, and Children’s Community Nursing Teams, as well as our regional Children’s Hospital in Southampton. We promote strong interdepartmental and cross-site working relationships with Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital.

Main duties of the job
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with minimal supervision, recognizing individual patient needs.
* Ensure religious, emotional, and psychological support for patients and families.
* Provide and receive appropriate handover reports related to patient care, ensuring staff have up-to-date knowledge of the patient's condition for proper nursing care.
* Participate in setting and maintaining standards of patient care based on sound research findings.
* In consultation with the team leader, be adaptable in patient allocation to meet changing needs of patients and staff.
* Maintain legible and comprehensive patient records according to Trust and NMC standards and guidelines.
* Liaise with the Team Leader regarding untoward incidents, complaints, and staff issues.
* Act in accordance with trust policies and nursing procedures.
