You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team dedicated to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, visitors, and the wider community - across our College site in Harrogate and where required, our Arts & Crafts Centre in Knaresborough.
In this hands-on role, you'll take pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation, from daily cleaning and laundry to supporting with stock, equipment, and general upkeep.
You'll work flexibly across our Knaresborough and Starbeck locations, helping ensure every space reflects the care, quality, and community spirit that make Henshaws special.
Vacancy Details: 2 x vacancies @ 20 hours per week
Hours:
1 x 7.30am am x 5 x days per week
1 x 12.30pm pm x 5 x days per week
Salary: £12.38 per hour
Location: Henshaws College, Harrogate and cover at Arts & Crafts Centre, Knaresborough. where required
Weeks per year: 52
Holiday: 5 weeks plus 10 days bank holiday
Closing date: 5th December Noon
Requirements
Ideally the candidate will be prepared to maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas, have experience of working in a customer focused environment and be willing to maintain the required standards of the organisation. While there is limited need for routine keyboard use you will need to be IT literate with a working knowledge of MS Office - particularly Word and Outlook. Support and Training will be given as necessary.
A knowledge of the importance and understanding of hygiene and cleanliness both in practice and regulation would be useful, and a knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety issues relating to these areas of work.
A Level 2 Cleaning/Infection control qualification or relevant experience is necessary, as is a flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the organisation, with occasional cover for colleagues. You must be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, with good communication skills, (verbal and written) and remain professional and courteous, friendly and calm in all situations.
