Location: LU5 6GJ | Hours: 37 per week (shift pattern 10 or 12 hours, including night shifts, weekends and bank holidays) | Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum pro rata + enhancements for unsociable hours.
Job Description
In Community Services, we work to reduce crime, disorder and anti‑social behaviour. Our goal is to make Central Bedfordshire a great place to work and live. As a CCTV Officer, you’ll play a big part in our team’s success by monitoring our CCTV systems, spotting issues and ensuring they are dealt with quickly.
* Monitor key areas using high‑tech CCTV systems set up in the town centre and public spaces.
* Flag up any problems and work with partner agencies, especially the Police, to arrange a fast, joined‑up response.
* Provide evidence and witness statements in court when necessary.
* Maintain accurate records.
What we expect
* You must have a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Front Line CCTV licence; if you do not, we will organise training and pay for the licence and any external training.
* You have or will gain the required knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong observational skills and the ability to cope in a high‑pressure environment.
* Calm and collected, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, and IT‑literate with multi‑tasking ability.
