Job Description:
Co-Ownership Housing – Board Member – Housing Development Sector
As Northern Ireland’s regional body for shared home ownership, Co-Ownership Housing has been operating at the leading edge of affordable housing policy for over 40 years. The organisation is both a registered housing association and a registered charity and has helped over 30,000 households into homes to date, holding housing stock of over 10,000 properties.
Co-Ownership has undertaken a successful programme of transformation and modernisation over recent years, ensuring that the organisation continues to extend its reach and positive impact upon society whilst striving for excellence in both customer and employee experience.
To support its continued success into the future, Co-Ownership is seeking to appoint an experienced professional from the housing development sector committed to Co-Ownership’s Vision, Purpose and Values, to join its existing Board and wider Committee teams. As a Board member, you will provide oversight of the delivery of Co-Ownership’s Strategic Plan and provide exemplary leadership in governance, business planning, and risk management. You will also be a champion for Co-Ownership’s work and its positive contribution to society.
As a Board member, you should have strong communication skills, the ability to assimilate complex information, and provide constructive challenge and fresh thinking. You will also bring professional expertise related to the housing development sector, which may relate to design, construction, or planning.
This non-remunerated role will appeal to those seeking a non-executive opportunity that positively impacts the lives of thousands of people across Northern Ireland. It will likely interest experienced professionals looking to add to their non-executive portfolio or senior executives seeking their first move into a non-executive role.
Application is via CV and brief supporting statement and should be received by 12 noon on Friday, 26 January 2024.
