The Role: As a part-time Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. This community special school supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, including: Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Complex learning difficulties Communication and interaction needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges Additional needs such as sensory processing difficulties and medical conditions requiring tailored support The school operates as a trauma-informed environment, providing highly individualised education programs, therapies, and interventions. Staff use a total communication approach, employing multiple methods to support pupils effectively.
