About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the front-of-house operations at a well-established and ambitious hospitality venue. This is a pivotal role requiring confident leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
You will oversee a team of 1015 front-of-house professionals, working in close partnership with the Executive Chef. Together, you will drive performance, elevate standards, and ensure the smooth coordination of a busy, multifaceted site that includes 7-bedrooms and a wedding venue offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all front-of-house operations
* Oversee guest accommodation management, including booking platforms (OpenTable, Avivo, and email systems)
* Ensure effective stock control across wet goods and accommodation supplies
* Maintain compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements
* Drive revenue through upselling initiatives and margin management
* Foster a proactive, service-led culture within the team
* Lead recruitment, training, and ongoing development of team members
* Execute ideas and improvements with autonomy and professionalism
* Support the planning and delivery of events and private functions (experience preferred, not essential)
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, commercially aware, and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Essential Qualities & Experience:
* Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) in a General Manager or senior front-of-house role
* Strong people management skills with a natural ability to motivate and lead
* Accommodation or boutique hotel management experience
* Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of operations
* Proficiency with stock control and margin awareness
* Passionate about hospitality with a clear customer-first mindset
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Flexible and willing to support where needed across the business
Desirable but Not Essential:
* Experience planning and managing weddings or events
* Hospitality qualifications or certifications
