Horticulturist
£30k+ Depending on Experience | Full-Time | Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Horticulturist to join a specialist growing organisation working with a unique ornamental crop. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on horticultural environment and is motivated by the opportunity to work with plants in a protected growing setting.
You'll be involved in day‑to‑day plant care, working closely with a dedicated team to support high-quality cultivation within controlled environments such as glasshouses or polytunnels. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys practical work, has a genuine enthusiasm for growing, and is keen to develop their expertise within a niche area of horticulture.
Key Responsibilities
Support the cultivation and ongoing care of a specialist ornamental crop
Work within protected growing environments and monitor plant health
Carry out routine tasks including watering, feeding, pruning, and general plant husbandry
Maintain clean, organised working areas and follow best horticultural practice
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality production standards
What We're Looking For
Strong passion for plants and horticulture
A qualification in horticulture or agriculture - ideally a degree, though RHS Level 2 or above is also welcomed
Experience working within protected cropping environments (glasshouses, tunnels, controlled environments, etc.)
Good practical skills and a willingness to learn specialist cultivation techniques
A positive attitude and reliability in a hands‑on growing role
