The Vacancy
Wates has an opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join our team within the Planned Maintenance division. This is a Full Time/Flexible Working, Permanent position that will close in 19 days at 23:59 BST. You will be working out of our Merseyside office on one of our contracts. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing pre and post contract strategies, managing commercial functions, and contract reporting.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop and encourage project team performance, ensuring that Wates’ main contractual obligations and strategies are executed and reviewed regularly.
2. Complete and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and progress reports.
3. Demonstrate understanding of internal and external tender strategies and build-up.
4. Agree on external valuations and cash flow to maximize project value.
5. Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to produce main and subcontract final accounts.
6. Ensure all subcontract management and process obligations are met, including procurement, measurement, valuation, contractual instructions/notices/orders, as well as health and safety.
To be successful, you should have relevant commercial skills and experience, including the ability to maximize value recovery, control costs, and manage cash effectively. You should also be proficient in understanding financial reports and final accounts.
You will need to be a confident communicator, capable of building relationships with clients, project surveyors, the design team, and supply chain partners. You should also be committed to leading and developing commercial site teams.
