About the Role
Are you a confident and experienced SEND leader, passionate about making a real difference to the lives and outcomes of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities? Leicestershire County Council is seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Assessment (SENA) Team Manager to play a pivotal role within our high performing SEND service. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead practice, support staff and drive high quality statutory delivery for families across Leicestershire.
An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Relevant BTEC Higher, relevant NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and substantial experience, or equivalent work experiences.
* Manage and supervise SENA staff to deliver high quality assessments, plans and reviews.
* Ensure compliance with statutory duties under the SEND Code of Practice, and knowledge of current educational legislation, regulations and guidance as they apply to special educational needs.
* Drive performance management, quality assurance and continuous practice improvement.
* Work collaboratively with schools, early years settings, FE colleges, health, social care and other partners, and be a visible, confident leader who can balance operational grip with a strong commitment to inclusive, child‑centred practice.
* Contribute to service development, policy implementation and thematic leadership.
* Support effective budget management and value‑for‑money decision‑making, and represent the service at SEND panels, multi‑agency forums and partnership meetings.
