The Portland Trust, an internationally-renowned strategic body that works on Palestinian and Israeli economic development, is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Business Development Lead for the initial development of a major healthcare infrastructure project, building on the Trust’s ongoing work with leading hospitals and healthcare experts on both sides of the border. The role offers competitive terms and negotiable conditions.The right candidate will have successful experience of leading the development of a business case and overall proposition, managing a project team, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring robust planning, timelines, budgeting, reporting and risk management. The role requires navigating sensitive commercial and interpersonal contexts with tact, diplomacy and sound judgement. The initial work will begin as soon as possible and last 4–6 months, with an expected time commitment of 3 days per week.Please contact alice.davison@portlandtrust.org with your CV for more information.Required Criteria● 10+ years’ commercial experience as a consultant or business development professional● Demonstrable experience in writing, pitching and winning major business proposals or mandates, ideally in large corporate settings● Experience composing business cases, demand analysis and financial modelling, and conducting feasibility studies and market testing● Ability to navigate the sensitivities and complexities of the regional context; evidencing character, tact, diplomacy and sound judgement● Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills● Self-starter with strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills● Able to work in the United Kingdom and travel to Israel and PalestinePreferred Criteria● Knowledge of healthcare operations and the global medical market● Proficiency in Arabic and/or Hebrew● Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder, cross-border or politically sensitive projects● Experience preparing investment/business proposals for large healthcare infrastructure/construction projects
