This is a fixed term / secondment role until 31.03.2027 - to meet the needs of service.
Responsibilities
This role will cover a caseload of community patients, including general clinics, home enteral feeding patients and community hospital ward work. Patient groups may present complicated chronic nutritional cases requiring specialist dietetic treatment. MDT working is key and developing relationships vitally important. Responsibilities include planning, organising and facilitating appropriate education and training on nutritional risk screening and first‑line dietary advice for medicines management staff, community health and social care professionals, and care home staff, in line with NICE guidelines. You will conduct referrals for specialist nutritional support, assess nutritional needs, provide treatment options, and conduct follow‑up reviews. Quality improvement work is essential to continue service improvements, and the role includes supervising junior staff, dietetic assistants and student training.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree in Dietetics
* HCPC registration
* Post‑registration training in a specialist area / advanced diploma in dietetics
* Member of the British Dietetic Association
Desirable Qualifications
* Member of specialist interest group; working towards MSc or evidence of research qualification
* Evidence of service development and use of own initiative; clinical educator course
* Basic IT/keyboard skills
* Experience working in community or lone settings
* Experience in risk management
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and manage workload, proven organisational and time‑management skills, good teaching and supervisory skills
