We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Head Office team. This is not just a data entry role. It is a hands on, responsible position where you will be trusted to manage core transactional finance processes and keep everything running smoothly.
The role
You will support the Finance Manager and wider finance function with day-to-day finance operations.
You will take ownership of areas such as:
* Bank reconciliations and monitoring daily transactions
* Processing supplier invoices and managing the purchase ledger
* Preparing payment runs for review
* Supporting sales invoicing and compiling financial data
* Credit control and managing outstanding balances
* Credit card reconciliations and VAT checks
* Processing expenses in line with policy
This role requires someone who genuinely cares about accuracy. You will be working with sensitive financial information, so attention to detail and integrity are essential. You will also work with colleagues across the business, so you need to be confident communicating clearly and professionally.
About you
This role will suit someone who is motivated to build a long-term career in finance and wants responsibility, accountability and the opportunity to develop within a professional environment.
You'll likely have:
* At least two years' experience in bookkeeping or a transactional finance role
* A strong understanding of accounting principles
* Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software
* he ability to prioritise effectively and manage your time well
You must have:
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
* AAT Level 2 as a minimum, with progression to Level 4 expected
* High numerical accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Working pattern and benefits
* 5 hours per week across five days, fully on site at our Head Office in Berkeley, Gloucestershire
* One study day per week whilst working towards your AAT qualification at the relevant level
* Study support funded following successful completion of probation
