An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Cost Accountant to join a growing finance function. This role supports senior management by delivering accurate monthly and annual financial reporting, insightful commentary on manufacturing performance, and robust costing analysis for both sales and production teams. The position also plays a key part in strengthening financial controls and improving operational performance across multiple manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities: Analyse operational performance and manufacturing variances Calculate standard costs for operations and products Support inventory valuations and standard cost processes across sites Prepare estimated product costs and sales pricing for commercial teams Undertake stock control and monitor stock provisions Contribute to timely management accounts and supporting commentary across manufacturing locations Monitor daily ERP transactions and balances, identifying exceptions and errors Support continuous improvement of financial controls and reporting processes Provide financial insight to New Product Development initiatives Prepare business cases for capital expenditure proposals Assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles Collaborate cross‑functionally and support the wider finance team Participate in ad hoc projects as required Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date product cost data Person Specification: CIMA/ACCA qualified or QBE or part qualified Significant practical experience in lieu of formal qualification Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment High accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical, problem‑solving and financial control experience Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels Professionalism, drive, flexibility, and a continuous improvement mindset For more information on this role, please contact Ally Deas at Rutherford Cross.
