Overview
Primary purpose of the role: to lead virtual teams and take the lead in all aspects of system integration and system testing, including reviewing/authorising test specifications, approving/authorising testing, and reporting and investigating defects.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Be the principal contact with the client to gain approval of test specifications and host acceptance testing activities.
* Authorise execution of Test Specifications, plans, and strategy documents, working from system requirements.
* Approve test results, raise/investigate/verify defects, and set quality targets/standards.
* Escalate issues to the Systems Engineering Manager as necessary and provide status reports.
* Schedule and chair Gate reviews (TRR, TQR and FQR) and maintain progress reports for IVVQ work packages.
* Lead investigations of problems in the field or with IVVQ documentation; approve, implement and maintain relevant tools; lead assessment of tools.
* Stay abreast of technical developments in IVVQ and lead the production of System IVVQ Engineering estimates at optimum cost.
* Represent System IVVQ Engineering at formal Design Reviews and lead IVVQ Cost Reviews as part of a Bid team.
Expected Competence Level
Skills (underpinning knowledge) include:
* Ability to use a range of IT tools and assess System IVVQ Engineering tools.
* Knowledge of configuration control; ability to define and interpret IVVQ metrics; working knowledge of project plans.
* Working knowledge of Engineering Safety Management.
Experience
* Experience as the IVVQ lead in the System Engineering IVVQ process; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
* Evidence of leading a team and resolving issues across the IVVQ system.
Desirable Qualifications and Certification
* HND/Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent.
Financial / Budgetary Responsibility
* Deliver designs/projects to an agreed budget.
Security Clearance
This role requires SC Clearance. If not already held, the successful applicant will need to obtain and maintain SC Clearance. See UK government guidance for details on eligibility and evidence required to apply for Baseline and Security Clearance.
