Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced peer support worker to join our senior peer support lead team as a deputy peer support lead. This is a 6-month fixed-term position, offering an ideal opportunity to support our existing peer support leads in developing our peer support worker staffing group. You will develop staff training workshops, deliver supervision (individual and peer groups), conduct PSW training courses, support recruitment processes, and contribute to the development of PSWs.

Main duties of the job
* Support the Peer Support Lead in introducing new peer support worker roles within the organization.
* Support the delivery of the PSW Training Programme.
* Assist clinical teams with the development, selection, and embedding of new peer support roles.
* Provide supervision to peer support workers.
* Develop educational materials about the PSW role and handle enquiries about becoming a PSW.

Job Responsibilities
Leadership
* Support delivery of the PSW Training Programme, including co-delivering sessions, coaching, supervision, and supporting student wellbeing.
* Assist in review and assessment of written assignments and portfolios, providing feedback.
* Role-model personal responsibility, self-awareness, advocacy, and wellness planning.
* Provide supervision within a coaching model to PSWs across the Trust.
* Promote recovery and peer support initiatives, sharing information and developing local activities.
Communication
* Establish links with the Trust Recovery College, delivering courses with peer support workers.
* Respond to enquiries about the PSW role and becoming a PSW.
* Act as an ambassador, challenging inequalities and discrimination, and promoting learning.
* Communicate effectively, respecting individuals' backgrounds and preferences.
* Maintain confidentiality and produce accurate records.
* Uphold public confidence and act as a role model.
* Champion the Peer Worker role and recovery principles across the Trust and community.
* Represent peer support work at management levels and partner agencies.
Service Development
* Assist in embedding the peer worker roles within clinical services.
* Support recruitment and provide expertise to sustain PSW positions.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Foundation degree or equivalent experience.
* Care Certificate.
Knowledge (Essential)
* Understanding of the PSW role in various settings.
* Experience managing difficult situations and solutions.
Experience (Essential)
* Lived experience of mental health difficulties, recovery, and wellness planning.
* Experience as a peer support worker.
* Experience delivering training and assessments.
Desirable
* Experience within NHS mental health services.
* Mentoring and coaching experience.
