Company Overview:

Hidden Strength is a totally unique digital mental health platform championing young people aged 13-24 in the UK. We are on a mission to deliver meaningful and immediate mental health support, advice, and guidance in a safe, anonymous environment through our digital platform and chat-based therapy with qualified therapists.


A therapist will work remotely, with flexible shift patterns from 7-9pm, with an additional 30 minutes of admin time for notes at a lower flat rate of £12.50, covering across 7 days a week. You will engage with HS on a self-employed basis earning between of £25 per hour through our App based platform designed for children and young people. This style of contract, and current working hours are temporary until we have more consistent funding as a newly established charity (October 2024).



We would like to hear from committed mental health professionals and therapists who are passionate about helping children and young people with mental health difficulties, and who are willing join Hidden Strength during an exciting period of growth and development.


Your Role


Our therapists are required to provide a maximum of 3 x 40-minute chat based therapeutic sessions with young people, per shift. You will still be paid if you have no sessions booked.

The post holder will offer high quality chat-based coaching, delivery of therapeutic intervention or advice and an initial risk assessment to young people with potential mental health difficulties/illness, in mental and/or emotional distress or in acute crisis.



You will work under the guidance of our mental health lead and alongside a varied multidisciplinary team of qualified therapists and fellow practitioners. You will need to be confident managing your own case load and respond to potential crises as appropriate.


The service will operate seven days a week 7- 9:00 PM and the post holder will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. This post will require you to be flexible and have capacity to work a combination of week days and weekends throughout December and January, including Christmas to New Year period.

Our working practice is user-led, and we welcome applications from a variety of disciplines to provide an integrative approach.

Key Responsibilities:


o Provide short, medium and long term support to young people.

o Provide support to those with long term mental health difficulties and where appropriate liaise with external agencies.

o Manage your own case load and respond to potential crises as appropriate.

o Follow good practice and ethical guidelines.

o Maintain appropriate confidentiality.

o Engage and document your own Continuing Professional Development.

o Take responsibility for attending clinical supervision in line either provided by HS or externally.

o Attend case management and line management meetings, as agreed within the service.

o Adhere to HS policies and procedures.

o Maintain timely and accurate computer based clinical case notes and agreed data entry following interactions.

o Ability to develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship to bring about lasting psychological change.

o Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills

o Ability to produce concise, accurate written reports.

o Excellent record keeping.

o Effective use of Microsoft office products, email and internet

o Motivated, self-aware, flexible and enthusiastic.

o Ability to work independently, and as part of a wider clinical remote team. Reporting directly to the Mental Health Lead




Essential Qualifications and Experience:


● In order to apply for this post one of the following qualifications/registrations is essential: Registered Nurse - Mental Health, Occupational Therapist, Practitioner Psychologist. [BACAP, BPS, HCPC, UKCP, RCPsych, ACTO, BABCP, NMC]

● Valid professional indemnity insurance, set to a minimum indemnity of £1 million, which covers business activities to include the provision of psychological therapy to children.

● Current and valid Enhanced DBS certification to work with adults and children (registered with the update service) Valid and current DBS certification with Hidden Strength.

● Availability for at least one-two shifts per week

● Effective Broadband connection to provide online therapy.

● An uninterrupted and confidential space in which to practice.

● Experience working with young people within the demographic.

● Minimum of 2 years working with children and young people.

● Experience of CYP presentations of mental health and behavioural issues, safeguarding legislation.


OVERVIEW OF APPLICATION TIMELINE

Remote Interviews via Zoom/Teams: 18/19 November.

Successful Applicant outcome: 21 November

Induction to use our app/training: 24/25 November.

Predicted Start Date: W/C 1st December.
