Join Our Veterinary Team! This role encompasses two key areas: facilitating site visits to our Ruthin location in a safe and biosecure manner and supporting product development. Coordinating site visits and presenting on certain areas of the business will be a core focus of the role, alongside organising and processing DNA from our future genetics. In addition to the administrative responsibilities, the role includes a practical, hands-on element, such as daily calf feeding and supporting other tasks at the rearing unit. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for the industry. You will provide both administrative and practical support to the veterinary team, while building effective working relationships within the Vet team, the wider Genus organisation, and external stakeholders. Although you will collaborate closely with multiple teams, you will be a core member of the Vet team. Site Visits & Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate and facilitate both internal and external visits to the site Act as the main point of contact for all visit enquiries Ensure all visitors are fully compliant with site biosecurity requirements Organise visits in line with customer needs and expectations Maintain a strong general knowledge of the business, particularly production and supply chain Deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders Tissue Sampling & Genotyping Coordinate tissue sampling activities with livestock teams Ensure all beef calves are sampled for genotyping Arrange second samples for T15 genetic defect testing and Wagyu registration where required Organise double verification sampling at Glan y Wern prior to them leaving the site Conduct regular audits to ensure all required samples are collected; follow up on any omissions Manage and submit DNA samples from DeNovo cooperator herds and other dairy farms for testing Coordinate additional sampling for identified DeNovo keeps Prepare submission forms and dispatch samples with accurate animal data Package and ship samples in compliance with EU and US ABP regulations Share results and relevant information with the PDV team Maintain and update all relevant spreadsheets and data systems Rearing Unit Carry out daily calf feeding and monitor calf health and wellbeing to maintain high welfare standards. Participate in a weekend rota to ensure consistent care and management of the calf rearing unit. Perform tissue sampling in line with farm protocols and regulatory requirements. Coordinate, administer, and maintain accurate records of routine vaccinations, treatments, and herd health procedures.
