Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) are offering sponsorship for qualified Nurses and Midwives to complete the SCPHN qualification at level 7, to become a School Nurse. The post is fully funded by NHSE, and successful candidates will be paid AFC Band 6 (Annex 21).

At LGT, SCPHN's lead on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, provision of Universal Services and Targeted interventions to those children and families with the greatest need.

We are invested in the development of Public Health Nursing, and this is underpinned by our Public Health Nursing strategy and training programme for all roles within the PHN teams.

Interview Structure: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a two-part interview process:

* Group Discussion - Candidates will engage in a conversation on an unseen topic or question.

* Individual Interview - A panel interview where candidates will deliver a short 5-minute presentation at the beginning. Further details will be provided upon shortlisting.

Job Responsibilities

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements

* NMC Registration Current registration for nursing or midwifery, OR evidence of application with confirmed registration within 2 months of the start date.

* Educational Qualifications

o DipHE (or above) with 120 credits at Level 5 (Higher Education Credit Framework for England), OR evidence of equivalent prior learning.

o Postgraduate Diploma Route A 2:1 Honours Degree is required.

* Eligibility to Work in the UK Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the UK.

* Application Submission ALL sections of the application form must be fully completed according to the provided written guidelines.

* Literacy & Numeracy Proficiency

o Numeracy: National Qualifications Framework Level 1-2 (equivalent to GCSE).

o Literacy: National Qualifications Framework Level 3-4 (equivalent to A-level).


Person Specification

Education and Qualification

* Current NMC Registration for nursing or midwifery or evidence of application for NMC registration and confirmed NMC registration within 2 months of the start date
* DipHE (or above) qualification equivalent to 120 credits at level 5 (of the Higher Education Credit Framework for England) or evidence of previous education and learning to this level.

Fitness to Practice

* Is up to date and fit to practice safely

Application Completion

* ALL sections of application form completed FULLY according to written guidelines

Literacy and Numeracy

* Literacy and Numeracy at the level of the National Qualifications Framework at level 1-2 for Numeracy (equivalent of GCSE) and 3-4 for Literacy (equivalent of A level).

Knowledge

* Knowledge of the Public Health role of contemporary health visiting & working in community settings
* Knowledge of local and national policies which influence the provision of health visiting
* Current knowledge of safeguarding issues
* Knowledge of quality issues, the audit process and clinical governance

Experience

* Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams
* Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution
