Buyer Opportunity Role: Buyer Location: East Midlands Company: UK Leading Housebuilder Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 DOE Buyer Opportunity A Major UK Housebuilder with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential developments and sustainable communities nationwide are on the lookout for a Buyer to join their East Midlands office. As a Buyer, you will play a key part within the regional commercial team in the procurement of subcontract packages. You will support multiple developments by securing competitive pricing, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring procurement activities align with programme timelines and budget expectations. As a Buyer, you will take responsibility for: Procuring subcontract packages across multiple residential developments in line with budgets, specifications, and programme requirements. Preparing and issuing enquiry documentation, reviewing returned tenders, and negotiating the most competitive prices with subcontractors. Creating and managing trade tender lists and coordinating procurement activity with the wider commercial and site teams. Arranging and chairing pre-order meetings prior to subcontract appointments. Raising subcontract orders, including low-value orders where required. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the regional supply chain while identifying potential risks or gaps in subcontractor availability. Managing procurement schedules and producing buying reports to monitor performance against cost allowances. Supporting value engineering initiatives and providing procurement-related data for internal reporting, including sustainability information where required. Buyer Requirements: Previous procurement experience within the residential construction or housebuilding sector. Experience working within a commercial or procurement team. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors. Good understanding of construction contracts, including JCT and domestic subcontract agreements. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building regulations. Strong numerical ability and confident use of Microsoft Office packages. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to analyse and manage procurement information effectively. Other desirable skills include: Experience using COINS or similar construction procurement systems. Previous exposure to procurement across large-scale residential developments. What is on Offer?
