Do you have a heart for helping children with complex needs thrive in the classroom? We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Classroom Assistant to join our dedicated team at a specialist primary SEND school in Ellesmere Port.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children who are non-verbal and autistic
* Proven classroom experience in a primary or SEND setting
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning support
* Confidence supporting pupils with communication challenges and sensory needs
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Your Role:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex communication needs
* Use visual aids, sensory tools, and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
* Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
* Support pupils with transitions, emotional regulation, and engagement
* Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans
